鋼絲繩在各工業(yè)國家中都是標準產(chǎn)品,可按用途需要選擇其直徑、繩股數(shù)、每股鋼絲數(shù)、抗拉強度和足夠的安全系數(shù),它的規(guī)格型號可在有關手冊中查得。鋼絲繩除外層鋼絲的磨損外,主要因繞過滑輪和卷筒時反復彎曲引起金屬疲勞而逐漸折斷,因此滑輪或卷筒與鋼絲繩直徑的比值是決定鋼絲繩壽命的重要因素。比值大,鋼絲彎曲應力小,壽命長,但機構龐大。必須根據(jù)使用場合確定適宜的比值。鋼絲繩表面層的磨損、腐蝕程度或每個擰距內(nèi)斷絲數(shù)超過規(guī)定值時應予報廢。
鋼絲繩主要用在吊運,拉運等需要高強度線繩的運輸中。
